Coast-to-CoastResearch indicates that individuals living with paralysis benefit from lifelong exercise programs that integrate strength and aerobic fitness training, flexibility exercises and walking practice where feasible. The Community Fitness and Wellness (CFW) Facilities of the NeuroRecovery Network have made a commitment to give people living in their community access to affordable and effective activity-based exercise. CFWs are staffed by athletic trainers, personal trainers, and exercise physiologists, together referred to as Activity-based Technicians. Our CFW team provides an overall plan for longitudinal health maintenance. Activity-based interventions that may help participants maintain or improve their health are identified, and participant-specific recommendations are offered. Scholarships and discounted packages may also be available. If you or someone you know who is living with paralysis is ready to make this next step in their lifelong commitment to fitness, please click a site near you to find out more.
