Walk to Victory over Paralysis 2014

The “Walk to Victory over Paralysis” is a treadmill walkathon, which will benefit the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation NeuroRecovery Network® (NRN).

This groundbreaking event will have multiple treadmills run nonstop across 10+ NRN sites for a 24-hour period, on July 19-20, 2014. A true fundraising first for our community, this is a chance to unite and support the NRN.

To truly embrace the NRN mission, the walkathon will recruit participants, both able-bodied and in chairs, to get on the treadmill during the 24-hour period and raise funds for this pioneering program. Includes locomotor training, where participants are supported by a harness and suspended over a treadmill, while specially trained therapists move the participant’s legs to stimulate movement.

To serve the 5.6 million Americans living with paralysis, the Reeve Foundation supports NRN facilities nationwide. From east to west, we have NRN sites standing by to help individuals living with paralysis.

For Walk to Victory Over Paralysis, each NRN facility is tasked with raising at least $30,000. With $330,000 on the line, we need your help! By banding together to support this critical program, we will be well on our way to creating more centers like these in every major city across the country.
